Current Projects Underway At SNRI

UO2

In the middle of the 1960s direct energy conversion was proposed as a method for capturing the energy from the exhaust gas in a fusion reactor. This would generate a direct current of electricity. Several physicists from Russia and the US were early proponents of the idea. Engineers from SNRI are now evaluating whether collectors can be built in order to achieve the efficiency originally proposed.
